FIFTIERS™ launches the official “Age Friendly Company” Seal to recognize organizations committed to generational diversity and age inclusion in the workplace

In an era marked by the unprecedented coexistence of up to five generations in the workplace, the international organization FIFTIERS™ proudly announces the launch of the official “Age Friendly Company” Seal — a new certification awarded to companies that demonstrate a real, measurable, and strategic commitment to generational diversity and age inclusion in professional environments.

This seal emerges as a response to one of the most underestimated yet urgent challenges of the 21st century: ageism in the workplace and the widespread absence of intergenerational policies in organizational strategies. With this new distinction, FIFTIERS™ aims to promote age-diverse workplaces that value talent regardless of birthdate, dismantle generational stereotypes, and harness multigenerational collaboration as a key driver of innovation, resilience, and human sustainability.

“Talent has no age. And companies that truly understand this will lead the future of work. Through this seal, we aim to recognize organizations that don’t just tolerate generational differences but actively manage and celebrate them as a strategic asset,” states Pablo Gutiérrez-Ravé Villalón, President and Founder of FIFTIERS™.

What does the “Age Friendly Company” Seal certify?

To obtain the certification, companies must undergo a rigorous cultural and technical audit and develop a tailored Generational Diversity Plan. Key evaluation criteria include:

  • Diagnosis of structural ageism and generational bias

  • Inclusion of age as a variable in recruitment, promotion, training and retention policies

  • Intergenerational leadership and reverse mentoring initiatives

  • Inclusive internal communication strategies across age groups

  • Organizational culture and transformation processes aligned with age diversity

Certified companies will join the FIFTIERS™ International Network of Age Friendly Companies, gaining access to exclusive training, visibility, advisory programs and recognition among inclusive employers worldwide.

A timely response to a structural shift

More and more organizations are beginning to understand that intergenerational tensions, the neglect of senior talent, or the underutilization of younger professionals can have a direct impact on performance, innovation and retention. According to data from the FIFTIERS™ Observatory, 84% of companies report being “deeply concerned” about generational challenges, yet only a small fraction have implemented specific strategies to address them.

“Generational diversity cannot be treated as a side note in corporate responsibility or diversity plans. It must become a core strategic axis, because the future of work will be radically multigenerational,” adds Gutiérrez-Ravé.
