AXA and Swiss Re launch a new global call for metabolic health and longevity research
FIFTIERS | Life Begins at 50. La vida comienza a…
Metabolic health has become one of the key drivers of longer, healthier lives, especially for people over 50. Acknowledging this global shift, AXA Research Fund and Swiss Re Institute have launched the third edition of the Joint Risk Resilience Partnership, an international call designed to support innovative projects focused on longevity and behavioral change.
Announced on November 24, 2025, this year’s edition centers on the theme “Behavioral Shifts for Longevity”, encouraging research that explores how habits, psychology and technology can improve metabolic health in a sustainable way. The goal is to accelerate scientific breakthroughs that help current and future generations enjoy longer, active and high-quality lives.
The program will fund projects lasting between 9 and 18 months, with a maximum grant of 150,000 euros per proposal. Eligible projects must be led by academic institutions and address key areas such as predictive biomarkers, personalized interventions, cost-effectiveness models, sustained behavioral change and digital tools rooted in behavioral science.
For the global FIFTIERS generation, this initiative arrives at a decisive moment. Metabolic health is now the foundation for thriving after 50, enabling better energy, prevention of chronic diseases, cognitive resilience and overall vitality. The AXA–Swiss Re call supports a future in which life after midlife expands in possibilities and potential.
